IceCOLD is a synthetic liquid technology. It is formulated to generate a significant improvement in the operating and energy efficiency condition of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
IceCOLD synthetic refrigerant technology - 3 components
There are three components within IceCOLD that act independently without altering the physical characterisitics of the oil or refrigerant.
1 - A catalyst to prevent oil sticking to internal heat transfer surfaces
This catalyst removes the recognised problem of oil that impedes internal heat transfer surfaces. Within weeks of applying IceCOLD, the surface tension force that causes oil to cling to surfaces has been negated and the original efficiency of the system is largely restored.
2 - Refrigerant catalyst
This catalyst reduces the evaporating (boiling) temperature of refrigerant in direct expansion systems to improve heat transfer, deliver colder air and increase system capacity.
3 - Advanced synthetic lubricity agent
An advanced synthetic lubricity agent significantly improves lubricity ( less friction ) of internal components within the compressor. This extends operating life, reduces breakdown risks and slightly improves efficiency. Compressors will run cooler and quieter. World leading HVAC testing company, Intertek, has tested the IceCOLD lubricating agent through a standardised testing method to report an improvement of over 50% in lubricity.
IceCOLD will improve heat transfer efficiency. The compressor will reach its temperature set point faster and use less energy. The typical energy saving is between 15 to 25% and this will vary with system and operating conditions.
